Privacy Policy
How Devil's Hideout handles submissions, newsletter records, privacy choices and optional analytics.
Last updated: 20 July 2026. Devil’s Hideout collects only the information needed to operate submissions, newsletter signups, site security and optional audience measurement.
Information you provide
- Submitted reports: the report, contact details and consent record you choose to provide. Reports enter a private moderation queue and are not published automatically.
- Newsletter signups: the supplied email address and the signup record. You may unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Privacy and correction requests: the information needed to review and answer the request.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 cookies and page-view measurement are used only after affirmative consent. The Google tag file itself is requested with analytics storage denied so the installation can be verified. After consent, analytics may process page visits, approximate location, device and browser information, referrer data and site interactions. Advertising features and Google Signals are disabled. The legal basis for analytics measurement is consent, which can be withdrawn through Cookie settings in the footer. See the Cookie Policy for the exact implementation and cookie lifetimes.
Purposes and legal bases
- Consent is used for optional analytics, newsletter signup and the storage/follow-up of submitted reports.
- Legitimate interests may apply to essential site security, fraud prevention, moderation, correction handling and maintaining the integrity of the archive.
- Strictly necessary storage is used to provide functions requested by visitors and to remember privacy choices.
Service providers and transfers
Hostinger provides website hosting and related security infrastructure. Google processes optional analytics data when consent is active. These providers may process data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area using the transfer safeguards described in their contractual and privacy documentation.
Retention
Submitted reports and signup records are retained only while needed for moderation, follow-up, publication decisions, subscription administration or legal obligations. Analytics cookies are limited to 180 days by the site configuration. Records may be deleted earlier following a valid request unless retention is required for security or legal reasons.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and you may withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission. To make a request, use the contact and corrections form and enter "Privacy request" as the report title. Enough information may be requested to verify and locate the relevant record.
