How Devil's Hideout uses necessary storage and consent-based Google Analytics.

Last updated: 20 July 2026.

How this site uses cookies

Devil’s Hideout uses a strictly necessary first-party cookie to remember your privacy choice. The Google tag file is present in the page with storage denied by default so the installation can be verified. Analytics cookies and page-view measurement begin only after you actively accept analytics. Rejecting analytics does not prevent access to any public content or tool.

Strictly necessary storage

  • dh_cookie_consent: records whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. It is a first-party cookie, lasts up to 180 days, and is necessary to remember the choice you requested.
  • WordPress login and security cookies: used only for administrators or other authenticated users where applicable. Public visitors do not need to sign in to read the site.

Optional analytics

If you select Accept analytics, the site loads Google Analytics 4 using measurement ID G-893EJHYXJ8. Google Analytics may then set first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_893EJHYXJ8. This implementation limits their lifetime to no more than 180 days and does not refresh that lifetime on every visit.

Analytics may collect page URLs, approximate location derived from network information, browser and device characteristics, referrer information, visit timing and interactions with the site. Devil’s Hideout uses this information to understand which public pages are useful and where the site needs improvement.

Advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalisation, Google Signals and ad-personalisation signals remain disabled. When analytics is rejected or no choice has been made, analytics storage stays denied, no Google Analytics cookies are created, and page-view measurement is disabled. The browser still requests the Google tag file from Google so the installation can be detected.

Change or withdraw your choice

Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Rejecting analytics updates the consent state and removes Google Analytics cookies that this site can access. Withdrawal applies to future collection and cannot undo processing that occurred while consent was active. You can also remove cookies through your browser settings.
